Mga senior citizen nabigyan ng trabaho sa NAIA

Dumarami na ang mga nakatatanda na nabigyan ng trabaho dahil sa work-for-pay program ng Ang Probinsyano partylist katuwang ang Department of Labor and Employment.

Ito ay matapos lumagda sa kasunduan sina MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal at Pasay City Mayor Emi Rubiano-Calixto para makapagtrabaho sa NAIA ang 100 senior citizens na naninirahan malapit sa airport.

Nagpasalamat si Ang Probinsyano Rep. Ronnie Ong kay GM Monreal na hindi nagdalawang-isip na makibahagi sa programa.

Ikinatuwa naman ni Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III ang inisyatibo ni Ong dahil bilang isa na ring senior citizen ay alam daw niyang maraming matatandang Pilipino ang gusto pa talagang magtrabaho at may pagkaabalahan.

Umaasa ang kalihim na maisasakatuparan ang programa sa buong bansa.

Unang inilunsad ni Ong ang special job program for seniors sa PUP, na ngayo’y meron na rin sa UP-Diliman, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, NBI at Central Visayas.

Ikinatuwiran ni Ong sa pagsusulong sa programa na balewala ang mga diskwento kung wala rin namang panggastos ang mga senior./ EA
