Pagpasa sa Evacuation Centers Bill iginiit ni Deputy Minority Leader Zarate
Kinalampag ni House Deputy Minority Leader at Bayan Muna Party-list Rep. Carlos Zarate ang Kamara na madaliin ang pag-apruba sa panukala na Evacuation Centers Bill.
Ayon kay Zarate, hindi na dapat hintayin pa na may panibago na namang Bagyong Tisoy ang mananalasa sa bansa bago maisip ang pagkakaroon ng matatag at disaster resilient na evacuation centers.
Sa House Bill 5259 ni Zarate, dapat mayroong secure at safe na lugar para sa mga biktima ng kalamidad.
Ang panukalang evacuation centers ay dapat na typhoon, earthquake at disaster resistant, malayo sa mga tent cities at mga open spaces na lantad sa iba’t ibang sakit ang mga evacuees.
Maiiwasan na rin ang paggamit sa mga eskwelahan at mga multi-purpose halls na evacuation centers na kadalasan ay nakatayo pa sa mga danger prone areas.
Itatayo ang mga evacuation centers sa bawat lungsod at lalawigan sa bansa na magsisilbi ring command center para sa disaster response.
