WATCH: Labor inspection, itinigil muna ng DOLE

Upang mabigyan ng sapat na panahon ang paglutas sa mga nakabimbing kaso sa paggawa, pansamantalang itinigil muna ng Department of Labor and Employment ang pag-i-inspeksiyon sa mga kumpanya ngayong huling buwan ng taon at makapaghanda na rin ng inspection program para sa 2020.

Sa nilagdaang Administrative Order No. 495, Series of 2019 ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, inaatasan ang lahat ng regional directors ng kagawaran na sumunod sa suspension ng labor inspection activities sa lahat ng kanilang saklaw simula a-uno ng Disyembre.

Hindi naman kasali sa suspension ang mga complaint inspections; occupational safety and health standards (OSHS) investigations; technical safety inspections, gaya ng inspection ng boilers, pressure vessels, mechanical and electrical installation, etc; o mga industriyang iuutos ng kalihim na suriin.

Magpapatuloy naman routine inspections sa sandaling ipalabas na ang 2020 General Authority for Labor Inspectors.

Samantala sa pinakahuling datos ng DOLE noong September, 57,514 establishments na sumasakop sa 2.3-milyong manggagawa ang sumailalim na sa pagsisiyasat ng DOLE labor inspectors.
