2 Philippine eagles na ipinadala sa Singapore ibinida sa media

Ipinasilip sa media ng Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) araw ng Miyerkules (Nov. 27) sina Geothermica at Sambisig, ang dalawang Philippine Eagle na ipinadala sa Singapore sa ilalim ng loan deal.

Layon ng 10-year loan agreement na maitaas ang populasyon ng Philippine Eagles.

Inaasahang makakabuo ng anak ang dalawang agila habang inaalagaan sila sa Jurong Bird Park.

Sa pahayag ng WRS, sinabi nitong ang mga anak nina Geothermica at Sambisig ay ibabalik sa Pilipinas para maparami ang populayon ng itinuturing nang critically-endangered species.

“Any future offspring of the eagles will be returned to the Philippines to contribute to the sustainability of the species’ population,” ayon sa WRS.

Nasa 800 na lang ang populasyon ng Philippine Eagles sa Pilipinas ayon sa conservationists.

Ang pagpapakita sa media kina Geothermica at Sambisig ay bahagi ng mga programa para gunitain ang 50 taon ng diplomatic relations ng Singapore at Pilipinas.
