Obispo nanawagan ng pagkakaisa ng mga Pinoy para sa SEA Games

Umapela ang isang opisyal ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) sa publiko na magkaisa muna at ipakita ang pagiging magiliw ngayong ginaganap ang 2019 Southeast Asian Games sa bansa.

Sa panayam ng Church-run radio station, Radyo Veritas, sinabi ni CBCP Episcopal Commision on Migrants and Itinerant Peoples chairman at Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos na dapat iparanas ng mga Filipino sa foreign delegations ang mainit na pagtanggap, pagmamalasakit at pakikipagkaibigan.

“Let us all together, one and united, to show our true face, that is our caring and compassionate hospitality. We are all welcoming and endearing Filipinos, and so let them experience from us warm, concern and friendship,” ani Santos.

Ang mensahe ng obispo ay makaraang ulanin ng reklamo ang organizers ng SEA Games.

Pero ayon kay Bishop Santos, dapat isantabi muna ang mga hindi kinakailangang kritisismo na hindi magbibigay ng lakas ng loob sa Pinoy athletes at sa mga bisita.

“Let us set aside bitter criticism, unsavory comments which will not inspire nor encourage our athletes and guests,” dagdag ng obispo.

Ilan sa mga inireklamo ilang araw bago ang opisyal na pagsisimula ng SEA Games ay ang pagkain, transportasyon at hotel accomodations.
