EU magbibigay ng P28M halaga ng humanitarian assistance sa Mindanao quake victims

Inanunsyo ng European Union (EU) araw ng Lunes na magbibigay sila ng €500,000 o P28 Milyong emergency humanitarian assistance para sa mga biktima ng sunud-sunod na lindol sa Mindanao.

Ipaaabot ang tulong sa pamamagitan ng Action Against Hunger (ACF) kung saan ibibigay sa mga pamilya ang emergency shelter, pagkain, malinis na tubig, psychosocial support at iba pang kinakailangang tulong.

Ayon kay EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides, naapektuhan ng serye ng lindol ang mga tao sa mahihirap na komunidad.

“The earthquakes have affected people in communities that were already poor and vulnerable. Our focus is to bring urgently needed assistance to those most heavily impacted by the disasters,” ani Stylianides.

Nagdeploy ang EU ng isang humanitarian exprert para sa assessment ng sitwasyon sa quake-hit areas at malaman ang pangangailangan ng mga biktima.

Higit 330,000 katao ang naapektuhan ng malalakas na pagyanig sa Mindanao simula noong October 16 hanggang 31.
