PH Red Cross bibigyan ng oral polio vaccine ang 100,000 bata hanggang Dec. 7

Aarangkada na simula ngayong araw ang ikalawang bugso ng ‘Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio’ ng Philippine Red Cross (PRC) sa Metro Manila at Mindanao.

Ang oral polio vaccines ay ibibigay sa 100,000 kabataan edad lima pababa hanggang sa December 7.

Ipakakalat ang Red Cross teams na binubuo ng leader, vaccinator, recorder at heath educator o hygiene promoter.

Ayon kay PRC chairman Senator Richard Gordon, pinagsusumikapan ng kanilang mga tauhan na maging polio-free ang Pilipinas.

“PRC staff and volunteers are working intensely to achieve a polio-free Philippines. PRC is going an extra mile in giving vaccines to kids 0-5 years old,” ani Gordon.

Upang matiyak anya na mabibigyan ng OPV ang bawat bata ay isinasagawa ng PRC ng house to house visits.

Una nang nabigyan ng bakuna kontra polio ang 62,843 na bata sa unang bugso ng immunization na naganap noong October 14 hanggang 27.

Magugunitang muling naitala ang kaso ng polio sa bansa matapos ang 19 na taon.
