667 NPA fighters sumuko sa Eastern Mindanao simula noong Enero
Iniulat kay Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Noel Clement ni Lt. Gen. Felimon T. Santos Jr., ang commander ng Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC) na umabot sa 667 regular NPA fighters ang sumuko sa rehiyon mula noong Enero.
Sa pagdalaw ni Clement sa Naval Station Felix Apolinario sa Panacan, Davao, iniulat din Santos na 56 miyembro ng NPA ang napatay simula unang buwan ng taon hanggang nitong Nob. 20.
May naaresto din na 82 rebelde at pagsuko ng 967 miyembro ng Militia ng Bayan (MB) at pagbawi ng suporta sa NPA ng 4,191 miyembro ng mga tinaguriang Mass Organizations (UGMOs).
Nakakumpiska din ang AFP Eastern Mindanao Command ng 993 iba’t ibang uri ng baril at pagkakakumpiska ng 232 landmines.
May 51 barangays din sa rehiyon ang naideklarang NPA-cleared.
