Pag-angkat ng bigas ng Pilipinas, tuloy pa rin – DA
Tuloy pa rin ang pag-angkat ng bigas ng Pilipinas sa ilalim ng Rice Tariffication Law, ayon sa Department of Agriculture (DA).
Ito ang paglilinaw ni Agriculture Secretary Willian Dar matapos dalawang beses ihayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na ihihinto ang rice importation sa panahon ng pag-ani.
Sa isang press conference, araw ng Huwebes, sinabi ni Dar na hindi ipinapatigil ang pag-import ng bigas.
Layon aniya ng pagpapatuloy ng rice importation na matiyak na mayroong sapat na suplay ng bigas sa bansa.
Miyerkules ng gabi, nagpulong ang pangulo at si Dar kasama sina Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea at Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez ukol sa usapin.
