Diokno: ‘Nice Christmas’ asahan dahil sa mababang presyo ng mga bilihin

Walang epekto sa inflation ang pagpapasuspinde ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa rice importation ayon kay Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Benjamin Diokno.

Sa panayam ng media araw ng Miyerkules, sinabi ni Diokno na maraming imports ang darating pa lamang at dahil panahon ng ani ay maaaring bumaba pa ang presyo ng bigas.

“Hindi naman makakaapekto kasi maraming imports na darating pa lang eh, tapos concern nga is harvest season, baka lalong bumaba yung presyo,” ani Diokno.

Wala naman na anyang magagawa pa ang gobyerno na ipatigil ang rice tariffication dahil isa na itong batas.

Tiwala rin ang BSP governor na magkakaroon ng magandang Pasko ang mga Filipino dahil batay sa mga pagtaya, mananatiling mababa ang presyo ng langis.

“And on prices naman, sinuswerte pa rin tayo, mababa pa rin ang long-term forecast of oil prices, sinuswerte tayo all the way. So we’ll have a nice Christmas,” dagdag ni Diokno.

Ang inflation rate noong October 2018 ay pumalo lamang sa 0.8 percent, lubhang mababa kumpara sa 6.7 percent sa kaparehong buwan noong 2019.
