Ayon sa Phivolcs, ang episentro ng lindol ay sa layong walong kilometro Timog-Kanluran ng Makilala.
May lalim itong 23 kilometro at tectonic ang pinagmulan.
Hindi naman ito nagdulot ng pinsala sa ari-arian at wala ring inaasahang aftershocks.
