Panukalang magkaroon ng ‘Marshal System’ para sa mga hukom isinusulong sa Kamara
Ihinain na sa Kamara ang panukalang magtatatag ng marshal system para sa mga hukom sa bansa.
Sa ilalim ng House Bill 5403 na inihain ni Surigao Rep. Johny Pimentel nakasaad na ang marshals ay dapat may mga requirements tulad ng isang bachelor degree holder, dapat ay 21 taong gulang subalit hindi lalampas ng 35 anyos; sumailalim sa training sa Philippine Public Safety College; kayang humawak ng armas .
Dapat din ay nagsilbing “peace officers” at may kapangarihan na magsagawa ng pag aresto, searches at seizures base sa umiiral na batas at alitutunin; maaaring mag-imbestiga at humadlang sa mga krimen laban sa judicial officer.
Nabatid na mayroong 2,561 trial judges sa bansa at 1,301 dito ay Regional Trial Court Judges, 169 sa Metro Trial Court Judges, 257 City Trial Court Judges, 468 Municipal Circuit Trial Court judges, at 366 ay Municipal Trial Court judges.
Bukod sa 15 miyembro ng SC ay may 70 Justices din ng Court of Appeals at 9 Justices ng Court of Tax Appeals.
Ang panukala ay inihain ni Pimentel kasunod ng pananambang kay Ilocos Sur Judge Mario Bañez.
Sa datos ng Supreme Court Office of the Court Administrator na ika-31 na hukom na napatay si Bañez simula noong Enero 1999 at ika 5 sa ilalim ng administrasyong Duterte.
