Cayetano: Pilipinas handa na para sa 2019 SEA Games
Tiniyak ni House Speaker Allan Peter Cayetano na handa na ang Pilipinas para sa hosting ng 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEAG).
Si Cayetano ang chairman ng Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) na nagtratrabaho para sa palaro kasama ang Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).
Bagama’t handa na ang bansa, nanawagan si Cayetano ng panalangin at suporta dahil hindi naman anya mahuhulaan ang mga posibleng mangyari.
“We are now ready for the Games, which we are hosting from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11. But we are asking for the support and prayers of everyone because you cannot foresee what will happen,” ani Cayetano.
Mahalaga anya ang hosting ng Pilipinas sa SEA Games dahil gusto ng pamahalaan na maipakita ang galing ng bansa.
“Our hosting is very important to us because we want to show the best of the Philippines. With the right people, people with experience, and with 9,000 volunteers, we expect everything will go well,” dagdag ng Speaker.
Isa na lang anya sa mga kinahaharap na problema ay ang pagmando sa trapiko sa Metro Manila at iba pang venues.
Ayon kay Cayetano, nagrekomenda na ang Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ng pagsara sa ilang mga kalsada at suspensyon ng klase sa ilang lugar.
Hinihintay na lamang umano ang sagot ng Malacañang sa rekomendasyon.
Sa usapin naman ng seguridad, sinabi ni Cayetano na bagama’t may mga ulat ng banta ay agad na sumaksyon ang mga awtoridad.
“As for the security and safety of the participants as well as the spectators, it was briefed two or three weeks ago, and may nabalitaan na mga threat but agad-agad na umaksyon ang security forces,” dagdag ni Cayetano.
Ang 30th SEA Games ay idaraos sa November 30 hanggang December 11.
Ito ang ikaapat na beses na ang Pilipinas ang host ng biannual multi-sports event.
