P4.4M halaga ng smuggled sugar nakumpiska ng BOC

Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs – Port of Manila (BOC-POM), ang aabot sa P4.4 milyong halaga ng smuggled na asukal mula sa China.

Ayon sa pahayag ng BOC kahapon, araw ng Huwebes, dumating ang walong container ng asukal ay dumating sa South Harbor noong August 30 at naka-consign sa RZTREC Trading.

Idineklara ang shipment na naglalaman ng steel coils.

Pero sa inspeksyon ng customs examiner nitong Miyerkules (Nov. 13), nadiskubreng ang laman ng shipment ay Korach Conditioned Refined Sugar.

Agad na naglabas ang BOC-POM ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention laban sa shipment dahil sa paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
