Bill para hindi makagamit ng FB at Twitter ang batang 13 anyos pababa isinulong sa Kamara

Inihain sa Kamara ang panukalang batas ukol sa restriction sa mga batang edad 13 anyos pababa sa paggmit ng mga social media platforms na Facebook at Twitter.

Isinulong ang bill sa gitna ng umanoy malaganap na “digital marketing system” ng FB at Twitter na target ang mga kabataan.

Sa House Bill No. 5307 na inihain ni Deputy Speaker Danilo Fernandez, dapat palakasin ng FB at Twitter ang kanilang hakbang para mabawalang gumamit ang nasa 13 anyos pababa.

Naaalarma si Fernandez na namomonitor sa social media ang galaw ng mga minors.

Gayundin ang maraming advertisements kapag ginamit ng mga menor de edad ang internet sa kanilang pag-aaral at komunikasyon sa kanilang mga kaibigan.

Sa ilalim ng batas ay bawal din ang pagkalap ng personal na impormasyon at pagmonitor sa lokasyon ng mga menor de edad ng walang consent ng kanilang mga magulang.

“Children and teens are at the epicenter of a pervasive-driven digital marketing system that is woven into the very fabric of their lives….Hence, there is a need to pass a legislation that puts children’s well-being on the top priority. If anything, children deserve a strong and effective protections online,” nakaasaad sa panukalang batas.
