Japan nagbigay ng high-speed patrol boat, X-ray machine sa PCG

Nakatanggap ng 150-meter high speed patrol boat at x-ray inspection machine mula sa Embassy of Japan ang Philippine Coast Guard araw ng Lunes.

Si Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda ang nag-turnover ng mga kagamitan kay PCG Commandant Vice. Adm. Joel Garcia.

Ayon kay PCG Spokesperson Armand Balilo, layon ng donasyon na mapalakas ng Pilipinas ang kakayahan nito kontra piracy at terorismo.

Ang 15-meter patrol boat na ibinigay ng Japan ay isa sa pinakamabilis na sasakyang pandagat ngayon ng PCG.

Kaya nitong tumakbo sa bilis na 29 knots at makapagsakay ng 14 pasahero.

Magagamit ang fast boat para sa quick response operations, retrieval missions at paghuli sa mga terorista, illegal poacher at intruders sa teritoryo ng bansa.

Noong Pebrero lang, nakatanggap din ng dalawang 12-meter high-speed boats ang PCG mula sa Japan bukod pa sa 10 rigid full inflatable boats noong 2018.
