VP Rodredo sasama sa anti-illegal drug operations
Tinanggap ni Vice President Leni Robredo ang alok ni Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Aaron Aquino na sumama siya sa anti-illegal drug operations.
Ang mungkahi ni Aquino ay ginawa sa pulong ng Inter-agency Council on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) nitong Biyernes.
Ayon kay Aquino, naging maayos ang pulong ng ICAD at umaasa siyang mas marami pang matututunan ang bise presidente sa law enforcement.
Upang mangyari ito, hinimok ng PDEA chief si Robredo na sumama sa isa sa mga operasyon kontra iligal na droga.
Magbibigay daan umano ito para makita ng bise presidente ang katotohanan sa drug war at hindi lamang bumabatay sa mga testimonya.
Bukod dito ay matutukoy din ng bise kung may depekto o problema ang kasalukuyang polisiya.
“Para ma-feel po ninyo kung paano po ang ginagawa ng ating law enforcement agents. Challenge ko po sa inyo, para kung meron kaming lapses, defects, makikita niyo,” ani Aquino.
Ayon sa bise presidente, gustong-gusto niyang sumama sa operasyon.
Sinabi ng bise presidente na malinaw ang kanyang pagkakasabi na ayaw niyang nabibiktima ang mahihirap sa drug war.
“We want to improve the policy, and I was clear that I don’t like that the anti-drug campaign is victimizing the poor,” ani Aquino.
