Nilinaw ng FedEx na hindi nila ililipat sa Pilipinas ang kanilang Asian hub operation mula sa China.
Sa kanilang tugon na ipinadala sa Radyo Inquirer, sinabi ng FedEx na ang ilalagay na operation center sa Clark, Pampanga ay bahagi ng kanilang expansion program sa Asia Pacific Region.
“FedEx is committed to the Asia Pacific region, including our customers and employees in both China and the Philippines, and we continue to consider opportunities and make strategic investments to expand our service, enhance our network and provide greater global connectivity,” ayon sa kanilang pahayag.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez na ililipat ng FedEx sa bansa ang kanilang Asian hub operation at sisimulan ang pagtatayo ng panilang pasilidad sa Clark sa susunod na taon.
Taong 2009 nang iwan ng FedEx ang kanilang operation hub sa Subic Bay sa Zambales.
