Duterte nakisimpatya sa Japan sa pananalasa ng Typhoon Hagibis

Nagpaabot ng pakikiramay at simpatya si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Japan matapos manalasa ang Typhoon Hagibis noong nakaraang buwan at kumitil ng maraming buhay at sumira ng mga istukrtura.

Ipinaabot ni Duterte ang pakikiramay sa kasagsagan ng bilateral meeting kay Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sa sidelines ng 35th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits araw ng Lunes.

“I am deeply saddened by the death of your countrymen during the Typhoon Hagibis,” ani Duterte.

Magugunitang nasa 80 katao ang nasawi sa pananalasa ng bagyo sa central at northern Japan.

Inihayag din ni Duterte ang kalungkutan sa pagkasira ng 600-taong gulang na Shuri Castle sa Okinawa na isang UNESCO Heritage site.

“I also mourned because of the Shuri Castle. It is a UNESCO Heritage,” pahayag ng pangulo.

Una nang sinabi ng Japanese government na muling itatayo ang makasaysayang castle.

Ang Shuri Castle ay ang simbolo ng ancient Ryukyu Kingdom at salamin ng paghihirap ng Okinawa para makabangong muli mula sa ikalawang digmaang pandaigdig.
