Bello kinondena ang pagpatay sa labor officer sa Maynila
Mariing kinondena ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ang pagpatay sa isang labor officer sa Maynila araw ng Lunes.
Nasawi sa ambush si Helen Dacanay habang nasa kanyang sasakyan sa kahabaan ng Malvar St., Malate, Maynila.
“I condemn in the strongest terms the dastardly killing of labor officer Ellen Dacanay assigned at the Manila field office of the Department,” ani Bello.
Hindi pa nakikilala ang mga suspek sa pamamaril kay Dacanay.
“It is disturbing that a civilian official was murdered in a cowardly manner akin to executions by hired guns,” dagdag ng kalihim.
Dahil dito, nanawagan si Bello sa mga awtoridad na agarang kumilos para mahuli ang mga nasa likod ng krimen.
“I appeal to our law enforcement agencies to act immediately to apprehend the perpetrators of the crime,” panawagan ni Bello.
Nakiramay si Bello sa pamilya ni Dacanay at nangakong magbibigay ang DOLE ng kaukulang tulong hanggang sa maabot ang hustisya.
“I join the officialdom of the Labor department in condoling with her family on their tragic loss. We will extend all necessary assistance to the family to serve the ends of justice,”
