Panelo sa harassment sa Filipino-crewed ship: ‘Not our concern’
‘Not a concern’ o hindi problema ng bansa.
Ito ang tugon ni Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo tungkol sa umano’y harassment ng isang Chinese Naval ship sa isang Liberian-flagged commercial vessel na minamando ng Filipino crew sa Scarborough Shoal.
Sa press briefing sa Nonthaburi, Thailand, sinabi ni Panelo na hindi naman barko ng Pilipinas ang sangkot sa insidente kaya walang kinalaman dito ang bansa.
“This is not a concern, this is not a Philippine vessel,” ani Panelo.
Para sa kalihim, hangaga’t hindi naaagrabyado ang isang barko ng Pilipinas ay hindi ito problema ng bansa.
Ayon kay Panelo, ang dapat tumugon sa insidente ay ang bansang dala-dala ng commercial vessel na umano’y nakaranas ng harassment.
Sinabi pa ng opisyal na hindi makakaapekto ang insidente sa negosasyon para sa pagbalangkas sa Code of Conduct sa South China Sea.
Una nang sinabi ni Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana na dapat irespeto ng China ang international maritime laws.
Sinang-ayunan ito ni Panelo dahil nagsabi naman anya ang China na dapat igalang ng Pilipinas ang international law.
“I agree, I agree. I think China should agree. Because China itself says that we should respect international law,” ani Panelo.
