DOLE: Tulong sa mga nilindol na manggagawa sa Mindanao inihahanda na
Kasalukuyang nagsasagawa ng assessment sa Mindanao ang ilang senior labor officials para tingnan ang sitwasyon ng mga manggagawa doon makalipas ang ilang magkakasunod na lindol sa rehiyon.
Sinabi ni Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III na nasa Mindanao ngayon sina Undersecretary Ana Dione at Assistant Secretary Benjo Santos Benavidez para pangunahan ang assessment sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon doon.
Gustong alamin ng DOLE ang tulong na pwedeng ibigay sa mga apektadong manggagawa.
May mga ulat kasi na maraming mga pabrika ang nasira sa mga pagyanig na nagdulot ng job displacement sa rehiyon.
Aalamin rin ng DOLE kung sumusunod sa safety protocol ang mga kumpanya para na rin sa kaligtasan ng mga manggagawa doon.
“We have received a directive from the president to monitor and provide appropriate assistance to the earthquake-affected cities. Even when the first earthquake jolted Mindanao early this month, we have already deployed our team to provide assistance for the affected workers,” ayon sa statement ni Bello.
