Si René Angélil ay nasawi dahil sa mga kumplikasyong dulot ng sakit na cancer.

Taong 1998 pa nang maranasan ni Angélil ang kaniyang sakit.

Naulila ni Angélil si Celine Dion at tatlo nilang anak.

Dalawampu’t dalawang taon nang kasal sina Angélil at Dion. Naging manager pa nga ni Dion ang kaniyang mister.
