Mahigit 100 dating rebelde tumanggap ng cash at livelihood assistance mula sa pamahalaan
Umabot na sa P1.9 million ang halaga ng cash at livelihood assistance na ibigay sa sumukong dating miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA).
Ayon sa Philipine Army, umabot sa 101 mga dating rebelde ang nakinabang sa naturang tulong.
Sinabi ni Maj. Ricky Aquilar, public affairs office chief ng 9th Infantry Division natanggap ng mga rebel returnees ang kanilang benepisyo sa idinaos na military-sponsored Peace Caravan sa Cawayan Sports Gymnasium sa bayan ng Cawayan sa Masbate.
Ang mga sumukong rebelde ay pawang mga dating NPA regular members at mass-base supporters na nag-ooperate sa lalawigan ng Masbate province.
Sumailalim muna sa evaluation at pagproseso ang mga dating rebelde bago ipinagkaloob ng Department of Interior and Local Government ang P15,000 na cash bawat isa.
Apat na dating rebelde namanm ang tumanggap ng P50,000 kada isa bilang livelihood assistance habang isa ang tumanggap ng P78,000 dahil sa pagsuko ng kaniyang armas.
