P3.5M halaga ng smuggled pork at meat products nasabat muli sa Port of Manila

Isa na namang shipment ng smuggled pork at meat products na nagkakahalaga ng P3.5 milyon ang nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa Port of Manila.

Ito ay dalawang araw lamang matapos masamsam ang kaparehong halaga ng smuggled na karne noong Lunes.

Sa pahayag ng BOC araw ng Miyerkules, idineklara bilang food seasoning at tomato paste ang dalawang container ng misdeclared pork at meat products na kanilang nakumpiska.

Consignee ng nasabing shipment ang JRA & Pearl Enterprises at ang kabuuang declared duties at taxes ay P337,264.

Hindi nakalusot sa physical examination ni Customs Broker Arlene De Mateo Gonzales ang shipment at nadiskubre ang tunay na laman nito.

Ang shipment na nakumpiska noong Lunes ay nakabalot sa mga kahon na may Chinese characters habang ang nasabat kahapon ay nakalagay sa mga kahon na may marking ‘Profood’.

Agad na nagpalabas ng warrant of seizure and detention laban sa shipment dahil sa paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
