Sinibak sa kanyang pwesto ang pinuno ng Police Regional Office (PRO-10) ng Philippine National Police.
Ipinaliwanag ni PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa na inalis sa pwesto si B/Gen. Rafael Santiago Jr. dahil sa kasong kinakahatap nito simula pa noong 2012.
“Yes, he was relieved because he has a suspension order that came out, that was dated October 21, 2019,” ayon kay Gamboa.
“It is a pity because he was a very good performer but we have to implement the suspension order for six months, even if he is ‘retireable’ by May of next year I have no course but to implement it,”dagdag pa ng opisyal.
May kaugnayan ang kaso sa logistics complaint noong si Santiago pa ay pinuno ng Zambales Provincial Police Office.
Sina Gamboa at Santiago ay kapwa kabilang sa Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Sinagtala Class of 1986.
