Kinokonsidera ng Cebu Provincial Government na palawigin pa ang 100-day ban sa mga pork at pork products mula sa Luzon kaugnay ng African Swine Fever (ASF).
Nababahala ang lokal na pamahalaan kasunod ng pagdami pa ng mga lugar na may positibong kaso ng ASF.
Nagpaabot ng abiso si Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia sa Department of Agriculture para sabihin na aalisin lamang nila ang ban kapag tuluyan nang nasawata ang naturang sakit sa baboy.
Ang hakbang ng opisyal ay pagsuway sa kautusan ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) na alisin ang pork ban.
Nangangamba si Garcia na maapektuhan ng ASF ang hog industry ng Cebu na isa sa ikinabubuhay ng maliliit na negosyante sa probinsya.
Ang pork ban ay ipinatupad noong September 18 para hindi makapasok sa probinsya ang ASF virus.
