NTC nahigitan na ng halos P1.4B ang kanilang collection target ngayong taon

Lumagpas na ang National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ng halos P1.4 billion sa kanilang collection target para sa taong 2019.

Target ng NTC na makakulekta ng P4.78 billion na kita ngayong 2019, pero as of Oct. 13, 2019 ay umabot na sa P6.14 billion ang kuleksyon ng ahensya.

Ang NTC na nasa ilalim ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), ang naturang halaga ay lagpas na ng P1.361 million sa kanilang target.

Ayon kay NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba, patuloy na pagsusumikapan ng ahensiya na umabot pa sa P2 billion ang sosobra sa kanilang kuleksyon.

Ito na ang ikaapat na sunod na taon kung saan sumobra ang kinita n ng NTC sa collection target nito sa ilalim ng Duterte administration.

Noong 2018, ay lumampas din ang kita ng NTC sa halagang P1.8 billion.

“This year’s achievement is NTC’s way of showing its full support to the national government and the public service programs pushed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte – priorities of which are on infrastructure, agriculture and rural development, and peace and order,” ayon pa kay Cordoba.

Tinukoy ng NTC ang maayos na performance sa pamamagitan ng istriktong pagtugon ng mga enforce stakeholders katulad ng tamang pagreremit ng spectrum users’ fees, supervision at regulation fees, at penalties kung kaya’t tumaas ang kanilang koleksiyon.

Kabilang sa mga Stakeholders na pinangangasiwaan ng NTC ay mga cable and commercial television operators, broadcast radio stations, telecom companies, at commercial and portable radio operators.
