Dating election officer na nasangkot sa “Hello Garci” controversy na si Lintang Bidol sinuspinde ng Korte Suprema

Pinatawan ng suspensyon ng Korte Suprema si dating election officer Atty. Lintang Bedol na naging kontrobersyal matapos madawit sa “Hello Garci” conversations noong 2004 Presidential elections.

Pinatawan ng suspensyon si Bedol at hindi muna makapagpa-practice ng abogasya sa loob ng isang taon kaugnay sa disbarment case na kaniyang kinakaharap sa Korte Suprema.

Sa desisyon na isinulat ni Supreme Court Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta na inayunan nina Associate Justices Marvic Leonen, Andres Reyes, Jr., Ramon Paul Hernando at Henri Jean Paul Inting, inaprubahan ang resolusyon ng Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Board of Governors noong April 16, 2010.

Ayon sa SC, nilabag ni Bedol ang Canon 1 ng Code of Professional Responsibility nang magdeklara ito ng failure of elections at mag-utos ng special elections dalawang polling precincts sa Kabuntalan, Maguindanao.

Dapat ayon sa SC ay hinihintay ni Bedol ang resolusyon na ipalalabas ng Comelec En Banc hinggil sa pagkakaroon ng special elections.
