Duque umapela sa private hospitals na mag-renew ng PhilHealth accreditation

Umapela si Health Secretary Francisco Duque III sa mga pribadong ospital na mag-renew ng kanilang accreditation sa Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).

Ayon kay Duque, walang sinumang makikinabang at isang “lose-lose situation” kapag magkakasabay na mag-withdraw ang private hospitals ng kanilang PhilHealth accreditation.

Pahayag ito ng kalihim kasunod ng anunsyo ng Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines (PHAPi) na posibleng hindi na mag-renew ng PhilHealth accreditation ang kanilang mga miyembro dahil marami sa kanila ang wala pang natatanggap na reimbursement sa kanilang PhilHealth claims.

Paliwanag ni Duque, halos lahat ng mga Pilipino ay may PhilHealth coverage na at kung hindi na magpa-accredit ang private hospitals ay ang mga tao ang magbabayad ng hospital bills at hindi ang PhilHealth.

Dagdag ng opisyal, bakit ang pasyente ang magbabayad gayung mayroong benepisyo sa ilalim ng PhilHealth.

Giit ni Duque, hindi tama na talikuran lalo na ang mahihirap na mga Pilipino at hindi sila mabigyan ng tamang serbisyong medikal dahil sa plano ng mga pribadong ospital.

Ang hindi anya pag-renew sa PhilHealth accreditation ng private hospitals ay maaaring maka-kompromiso sa implementasyon ng Universal Health Care Law.
