Suspek sa pagpatay sa Remate columnist at kasamahan, natukoy na
Inanunsyo ng Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) araw ng Martes na natukoy na ng pulisya ang suspek sa pagpatay sa Remate columnist na si Jupiter Gonzales at kasamahan nitong si Chistopher Tiongson.
Pinagbabaril sina Gonzales at Tiongson sa Brgy. Cacutud, Arayat, Pampanga noong Linggo.
Ayon kay PTFoMS Executive Director Undersecretary Joel Sy Egco, tukoy na ang pagkakakilanlan ng gunman ngunit hindi pa ito ipapaalam hangga’t hindi pa nakakapagsampa ng kaso.
Batay anya sa inisyal na imbestigasyon, kilala ni Gonzales ang kanyang killer na posibleng sakay sa backseat ng kotse bago barilin ang mga biktima.
Lumalabas sa CCTV footage na lumabas ang suspek sa sasakyan at matapos ang apat na minuto binuksan nito ang bintana at sinubukang kuhain ang sasakyan.
Gayunman, nakapagmaneho pa ng may layong 50 metro si Gonzales bago tuluyang bumangga sa flowerbox.
Naganap ang krimen malapit sa isang peryahan.
Ayon kay Egco, lumalabas sa imbestigasyon na posibleng nagtrabaho sa nasabing peryahan ang suspek.
Si Gonzales ay kritiko ng iligal na sugal na talamak sa mga peryahan.
“I watched the CCTV footage where the car of the victims and the gunman are clearly seen. Since the scene of the crime is just a few meters away from the local carnival, or peryahan, and at a busy intersection, there were many people who witnessed the incident up to the time when the gunman took off on a commandeered motorcycle,” ani Egco.
Posibleng maisampa ang kaso laban sa gunman sa mga susunod na araw matapos ang follow-up investigations ng pulisya.
