GenSan port isinailalim sa lockdown matapos ang magnitude 6.3 na lindol

Naka-lockdown ang Port of General Santos o ang Makar Wharf matapos tumama ang magnitude 6.3 na lindol sa North Cotabato at naramdaman din sa maraming bahagi ng Mindanao kabilang ang GenSan.

Ayon kay Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) general manager Jay Santiago, isinailalim sa lockdown ang pantalan kkahit wala pang nakikitang pinsala sa mga pasilidad.

Layon nitong matiyak na lahat ng indibidwal ay ligtas.

Suspendido rin ang operasyon ng GenSan port hanggang Huwebes ng umaga upang bigyang daan ang masusing inspeksyon sa mga istruktura nito.

“Although there are no material damage to port facilities per initial assessment, Port of Gensan/Makar Wharf is on lockdown,” ayon sa text message ni Santiago na ibinahagi ng Department of Transportation.

“We are making sure that all persons are safe and that the integrity of structures are ascertained first,” dagdag ni Santiago.
