Filipina boxer nakasungkit ng gold medal sa world championship sa Russia

Wala pang 24 oras matapos ang panalo ng Filipino gymnast na si Carlos Yulo, isa pang Filipina ang nag-angat ng bandila ng Pilipinas sa larangan ng palakasan.

Ito ay makaraang maiuwi ni Nesthy Petecio ang gintong medalya araw ng Linggo sa 2019 Aiba Women’s World Boxing Championships sa FSk Sports Complex, Ulan-Ude Russia.

Tinalo ni Petecio via split decision ang hometown bet na si Liudmila Vorontsova.

Umabante sa finals si Petecio matapos matalo si Karris Artingstall ng England sa iskor na 4-1 sa semis.

Nagpahayag ng kasiyahan si Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines (ABAP) president Ricky Vargas sa pagkapanalo ng Pinay boxer.

“Deserving” anya ito sa panalo hindi lamang sa ipinakitang laban kundi dahil sa naging sakripisyo nito.
