Malacañang: ‘Work from home’ dapat nang maipatupad

Naniniwala ang Palasyo ng Malacañang na makatutulong sa pagpapaluwag ng trapiko sa Metro Manila ang istriktong implementasyon ng ‘Telecommuting Act’ o ‘Work from Home’ law.

Sa press briefing araw ng Huwebes, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo na dapat ipatupad ang isang batas anuman ang sitwasyon.

“Since may batas, dapat i-implement. Whether it’s time or not, batas yun, eh. I-enforce natin,” ani Panelo.

Noong December 20, 2018 nilagdaan ni Pangulong Rordrigo Duterte ang Telecommuting Act na layong kilalanin ang ‘telecommuting’ o paggamit ng teknolohiya bilang isa sa working arrangements lalo na ng mga nasa pribadong sektor.

Kahit sa bahay magtratrabaho, ang mga empleyado na gumagamit ng ‘telecommunications’ ay makatatanggap pa rin ng kaparehong pribilehiyo ng mga nasa lehitimong opisina.

Una nang sinabi ni Panelo na sa pamamagitan ng implementasyon ng naturang batas ay positibo ang gobyerno na makatutulong ito sa kondisyon ng trapiko sa Metro Manila at iba pang urban areas sa bansa.

“With its full implementation, we are optimistic that this arrangement can also contribute in easing the traffic conditions in Metro Manila and in other urban areas,” ayon sa kalihim.
