Franchise tax para sa POGO isusulong sa Kamara

Pinag-aaralan ni House Committee on Appropriations Committee Chair at Albay Rep. Joey Salceda na patawan ng franchise tax ang Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators o POGO.

Ayon kay Salceda, dapat irehistro ang POGO firms bilang resident foreign corporations na magiging basehan para sa kanilang taxability.

Ang 5 percent na franchise tax kada annual revenue ay ipapataw sa mga POGO firms na lisensyado ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation bilang government-owned gaming monopoly at buwis para sa pagsusugal.

Papatawan rin ng 10,000 dollars na monthly gaming tax ang offshore gaming hubs sa kada lamesa para sa live setup casino habang 5,000 dollars naman sa kada laro para sa unang isandaang random number generator-based games at 3,000 dollars kada buwan kapag lumampas ang bilang.

Bukod pa rito, magkakaroon ng 2 percent gaming tax sa gross gaming revenue ng dalawampu’t walong rehistradong interactive game operators habang 10,000 dollars naman kada buwan sa sports betting.

Una nang isinulong ni Salceda ang 1,000 dollars na corporate income tax per seat para mabawasan ang banta ng POGO industry sa ekonomiya.
