P4M halaga ng freon ng ref nakumpiska ng Customs
Hinarang ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang isang 20-feet container van na may lamang P4 million halaga ng freon ng ref.
Ito ay matapos matuklasang walang karampatang clearance mula sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – Environmental Management Bureau ang mga freon.
Ayon sa BOC, aabot sa 1,150 units ng Koman refrigerants ang laman ng container van na dumating sa Manila International Container Port (MICP) galing China noong September 7.
Ang mga kargamento ay naka-consign sa Barcolair Philippines Inc.
Ayon sa BOC, ang shipment ay labag sa Section 117 in relation to Section 1113 ng Republic Act No. 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act at sa EMB Memorandum Circular Order No. 2005-03.
Sa ilali ng naturang EMB Circular, lahat ng importers ng mga kemikal ay dapat magpa-rehistro sa EMB at kumuha ng Pre-Shipment Importation Clearance (PSIC) bago ang pagpasok sa bansa ng kanilang kargamento. (END.DD)
