DOH: Vapes hindi ‘harmless’

Inihayag ng Department of Health (DOH) na sadyang mapanganib sa kalusugan ang mga e-cigarettes o vapes at ibang “heated tobacco products.”

Sa Facebook post ng DOH araw ng Martes, sinabi ng ahensya na matapos ang malawakang pagsusuri sa mga ebidensya, maraming national at international health authorities ang hindi sinusuportahan ang posisyon na mas kaunti ang pinsala ng naturang mga produkto.

Ayon sa DOH, kabilang ang World Health Organization (WHO) sa taliwas sa posisyon na may “reduced harm” ang vapes at heated tobacco products.

Dahil dito ay tahasang sinabi ng ahensya na ang nasabing cigarette products ay hindi “harmless” o walang panganib at hindi “risk-free.”

Una nang ipinagbawal ng DOH ang paggamit ng electronic cigarettes sa mga pampublikong lugar.
