Gadon sa 3-month suspension: Buti hindi disbarment

Nagpahayag ng pasasalamat ang ‘bobo heckler’ at abogadong si Larry Gadon kay Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio dahil sa pagpataw lamang nito ng suspensyon laban sa kanya.

Ito ay matapos ang disbarment case na inihain laban kay Gadon ng isang dermatologist noong August 2009 dahil sa bastos na pananalita.

Si Carpio ang chairman ng SC Second Division na nagbaba ng ruling sa disbarment case ng dermatologist.

Ayon kay Gadon, naging ‘obhektibo’ si Carpio sa pagpataw ng 3-month suspensyon imbes na disbarment o hindi kaya ay mas matagal na suspensyon.

“I thank Associate Justice Antonio Carpio for being objective that a mere three months suspension is meted out instead of disbarment or 2 years suspension,” ani Gadon.

Para kay Gadon, natural lamang ang suspensyon sa tulad niyang ‘fighter lawyer’.

Paliwanag pa nito, mahirap iwasang maging ‘sarcastic’ at gumamit ng bastos na pananalita sa mababaw na argumento ng kapwa abogado.

Ang suspensyon ng SC ay matapos makitang “guilty” sa “culpable violation” ng Rule 8.10, Canon 8 ng Code of Professional Responsibility si Gadon.

Naging kontrobersyal din si Gadon kamakailan matapos sigawan ng ‘bobo’ at taasan ng dirty finger ang mga taga-suporta ni dating Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno sa Baguio City.
