Fish kill sa palaisdaan sa Cebu City dahil sa mababang oxygen content at mataas na temperatura
Nadiskubre ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) na mababang dissolved oxygen content at mataas na temperatura ang dahilan ng fish kill sa South Road Properties (SRP) Pond A sa Cebu City.
Nasa 600 kilo ng mga isda ang namatay sa naturang palaisdaan noong nakaraang linggo.
Ayon sa BFAR sa Central Visayas, lumabas sa sinuring fish sample ang mababang bacteria content na ibig sabihin ay hindi ito ang dahilan ng fish kill.
Pero nalaman sa laboratory results sa pagsusuri sa water sample sa Pond A na mayroon itong mababang dissolved oxygen na sukatan ng dami ng oxygen na nakahalo sa tubig.
Nabatid din na ang tubig sa palaisdaan ay may mataas na content ng ammonia.
Dahil sa fish kill ay ipinagbawal ang pangunguha ng mga isda sa SRP Pond dahil hindi tiyak kung ligtas itong kainin.
