Russia, Pilipinas pag-aaralan ang pagbuo ng nuclear power plant sa bansa

Lumagda ang state nuclear corporation ng Russia na ‘Rosatom’ at ang Department of Energy (DOE) ng isang kasunduan para pag-aralan ang posibilidad ng pagtatayo ng nuclear power plant sa Pilipinas.

Sa ulat ng RIA Novosti, state-news agency ng Russia, sinabing ang ‘agreement of intent’ ay nilagdaan sa kasagsagan ng Russian-Philippine business forum sa Moscow.

Bahagi ang kasunduan ng 10 business deals na sinelyuhan ng Pilipinas at Russia sa kasagsagan ng pagbisita ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Ayon sa ulat, sinabi ni Alexei Likhachev, CEO ng Rosatom na nagmungkahi ang Russia sa Pilipinas ng isang proyekto para sa pagbuo ng isang floating nuclear power plant.

Ang floating nuclear power plant ng Russia na Akademik Lomonosow ay nakadaong sa eastern Chukotka peninsula.

Mayroong binuong nuclear power plant sa Pilipinas sa bahagi ng Bataan noong 1970s ngunit hindi ginamit dahil sa pangambang magdulot ng sakuna.
