P69M na halaga ng dried wildlife species nakumpiska sa Palawan

Daan-daang kilo ng mga dried endangered marine at wildlife species ang nakumpiska sa Palawan.

Aabot sa P69 million ang kabuuang halaga ng mga nakumpiska na dapat ay ibebenta sa black market.

Ayon sa Naval Forces West, kabilang sa nakumpiska ang mga sumusunod:

– 38 sako ng dried pangolin scales na aabot sa 2,588 kilos
– 18 kahon ng dried seahorse na may bigat na 229 kilos
– 86.5 kilos ng sea dragon
– 9 na iceboxes ng dried sea turtle scutes na may bigat na 531 kilos

Nakumpiska ang mga ito sa isang abandonadong bahay sa Purok Pagkakaisa, Brgy. San Pedro sa Puerto Princesa City.

Ang pangolins ay endangered mammal at ang balat nito ay ginagamit para panggawa ng Chinese medicine.

Kapag ibinenta sa mainland China at Hong Kong, sinabi ng Navforwest na ang mga saku-sakong nakumpiskang kontrabando ay aabot sa P500 million ang halaga.

Pinagsanib na pwersa ng Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development, Naval Forces West operatives, at 3rd Marine Brigade ang nagkasa ng operasyon.
