Lumabas sa tala ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPOP) na dumami ang mga kaso ng murder sa Metro Manila sa ilalim ng kasalukuyang administrasyon.
Ayon sa NCRPO, mas marami ang kaso ng pagpatay sa unang tatlong taon at tatlong buwan ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kumpara sa termino ni dating Pangulong Noynoy Aquino.
Sa presentasyon ni Col. Ramon Pranada, hepe ng Regional Operations Division ng NCRPO araw ng Lunes, nasa 4,295 na kaso ng murder ang naitala mula July 1, 2016 hanggang September 26, 2019.
Ito ay 60 percent na mas mataas sa 2,682 na murder cases mula April 2013 hanggang June 2016 kung kailan nakaupo si Aquino.
Lumabas na nasa 1,144 ang murder cases mula January hanggang September 2016 at 1,295 para sa parehong mga buwan ng sumunod na taon.
Mayroon namang 592 na insidente ng pagpatay noong 2018 at 458 noong 2019 sa parehong mga buwan.
Ayon kay NCRPO chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar, ang pagdami ng kaso ng pagpatay ay dahil nagpapatayan ang mga miyembro ng drug syndicates.
“We have reports and information that they were the ones killing each other. And even scalawag police personnel, they themselves were involved here… Most of the crimes being committed are associated or are with the involvement of illegal drugs. That’s where we focused,” ani Eleazar.
