Sec. Pompeo: US-North Korea negotiations imposibleng magpatuloy ngayong katapusan

Bigo ang Estados Unidos na makapag-organisa ng working-level meetings kasama ang North korea sa katapusan ng buwan ayon kay Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Magugunitang inaasahang magpapatuloy na ngayong Setyembre ang negosasyon para sa pag-abandona ng Pyongyang sa nuclear at missile programs nito.

Sa pulong baltaan sa New York, sinabi ni Pompeo na imposibleng maipagpatuloy ngayong buwan ang pag-uusap at wala pang petsa kung kailan ito matutuloy.

“We have see these public statements that we were hopeful that there would be working level meetings by the end of this month … we’ve not been able to make those happen and we don’t have a date yet when we will be able to get together,” ani Pompeo.

Pero sinabi ni Pompeo na handa naman ang US team na makipagpulong sa North Korea anumang oras.

Umaasa anya ang US na makatatanggap ng tawag mula sa NoKor at magkaroon ng tyansang makahanap ng petsa at lugar na sasang-ayunan ng Pyongyang.

“We hope the phone rings and that we get that call and we get that chance to find a place and a time that work for the North Koreans and that we can deliver on the commitments that Chairman Kim and President Trump made,” giit ni Pompeo.

Nauna nang sinabi ni North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui noong unang linggo ng Setyembre na handa ang kanilang bansa para sa isang komprehensibong pulong sa US officials ngayong katapusan.

Nauwi sa deadlock ang negosasyon nina US President Donald Trump at North Korean leader Kim Jong Un matapos hindi pumayag ang Washington na tanggalin ang economic sanctions kapalit ng pag-abandona sa nuclear program.
