PCOO nagisa matapos hindi makuha ng PTV ang exclusive rights sa 2019 SEA Games

Naupakan sa Senado ang mga opisyal ng Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) makaraang mapag-alaman na hindi nakuha ng state run television network na PTV-4 ang exclusive rights para mai-ere ang 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Sa pagdinig para sa budget ng PCOO sa 2020, kwinestyon ni Sen. Francis Tolentino kung paano ito nangyari gayong ang SEA Games ay isang major sporting event na pangungunahan ng bansa ngayong taon.

Ayon kay Tolentino, eksklusibo dapat ang coverage ng SEA Games sa PTV-4 lalo’t ang gobyerno ang gumagastos at naghahanda para rito.

“Bakit nakawala ito? Bakit hindi ito napunta sa inyo? Dapat itong mga ganitong government, Philippine, International sporting event, dapat exclusive sa PTV-4, because you will have how many events?  ani Tolentino.

“This is a government event, tayo dapat ito, tayo ang magpapakita ng gilas ng Pilipinas,” giit ng senador.

Lalong nag-init ang ulo ni Tolentino nang matuklasan na tanging BMX at skate boarding mula sa 56 sports categories lamang ang maaaring i-cover ng PTV4.

Hindi tinanggap ni Tolentino ang dahilan ng PTV na pondo ang dahilan kaya’t bigong makuha ng government TV network ang kontrata sa airing ng major SEA games sports.

Ayon sa senador, ito na sana ang tyansa ng network para kumita dahil sa laki ng bayad sa advertising.

“This is supposed to be our chance, your chance not just to show our support to the Southeast Asian community, but to also get the top spot. Had they cornered the contract with the basketball game, the volleyball game ang laki ng advertisements ‘non, ang laki ng kikitain doon sa SEA games enough to fund the global division of your office the PCOO. Opening ceremonies na lang kung exclusive sigurado ako mag number 1 kayo,” ani Tolentino.

Aarangkada ang 2019 SEA Games sa November 30 hanggang December 11 kung saan nakatakdang idaos ang opening ceremonies sa Philippine Arena sa Bocaue, Bulacan.
