BOC nagsampa ng kasong criminal laban sa Shinerise Trading Service
Nagsampa ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) ng kasong kriminal laban sa Shinerise Trading Service dahil misdeclared agricultural products.
Ayon sa BOC, dumating ang 15 shipment na naunang idineklarang fishball sa Port of Manila noong August 2, 2019.
Ngunit, nang suriin ang kargamento, nakita ng mga otoridad na naglalaman ito ng carrots, broccoli, sibuyas at patatas.
Nagmula ang mga kargamento sa China at nagkakahalaga ng kabuuang P57,730,000.
Isinampa ang kaso laban sa isang Lorna Fernandez-Sagli, sole proprietress ng Shinerise Trading Services, at maging si Johnna Philippian Cristobal-Aceveda, lisensyadong Customs broker.
Paliwanag ng ahensya, ito ay dahil sa ‘unlawful importation’ ng mga agricultural product sa bansa.
Ayon sa BOC, paglabag ito sa Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, Republic Act 10845 o Anti-Agricultural Smuggling Act of 2016, Customs Administrative Order No. 2-2017 at Article 172 na may kaugnayan sa Article 171 ng Revised Penal Code.
Sinabi pa ng ahensya na maikokonsiderang large scale agricultural smuggling ang kaso dahil lagpas na P1 milyon ang halaga ng nakuhang kontrabando.
