OSG, PNP pinapa-contempt dahil sa pagsumite ng ‘basurang’ dokumento sa drug war
Hiniling ng isang grupo sa Korte Suprema na i-contempt ang Philippine National Police (PNP) at Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) dahil sa pagsumite ng umanoy basurang dokumento kaugnay ng kampanya ng gobyerno kontra droga.
Sa inihaing mosyon sa Supreme Court ng Center for International Law (Centerlaw) araw ng Lunes, hiniling na ma-contempt ang OSG at PNP.
Ayon sa grupo, tatlong beses na sinuway ng dalawang ahensya ang Korte Suprema partikular sa kautusan noong April 2019 na magbigay ng mga dokumento.
“What the OSG and PNP virtually want is for the Supreme Court and the Petitioners to utterly waste valuable time and resources examining case files which are totally irrelevant and, in fact, absolutely rubbish insofar as the instant cases are concerned,” nakasaad sa mosyon ng Centerlaw.
Ang mga dokumento ay patungkol sa mahigit 20,000 na insidente ng pagpatay mula July 1, 2016 hanggang November 27, 2017.
Nagbigay ang OSG at PNP sa korte ng 289 compact discs ng mga dokumento ukol sa umanoy 20,322 na patayan na may kinalaman sa droga.
Pero sinabi ng grupo na basura lamang ang ibinigay na dokumento ng OSG at PNP at hindi naglalaman ng tamang impormasyon.
“In other words, only 9.99 percent of the solved cases are ‘possibly drug-related’ and only 44.20 percent of the unsolved cases are ‘possibly drug-related’ deaths,” pahayag ng grupo.
Paliwanag ng Centerlaw, sa 1,792 na dokumento ay 801 lamang ang kasong naresolba at sa naturang bilang, 90.01 percent ay walang kaugnayan sa droga.
Habang sa 991 na hindi naresolbang kaso, 55.80 percent ay hindi drug-related gaya ng pananaksak, pambubugbog, hacking, at pamamaril.
