Pilipinas hindi papasok sa financial deal sa mga bansang pabor sa EJK probe

Hindi papasok ang pamahalaan sa anumang uri ng loan agreement sa mga 18 mga bansa na pumabor sa imbestigasyon ng United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sa umano’y kaso ng extra-judicial killing sa Pilipinas.

Ayon sa isang confidential memorandum mula sa tanggapan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na may petsang August 27, suspendido ang anumang uri ng pag-uusap sa grants, loan at mga kahalintulad na transakyon sa mga bansang umayon sa draft resolution na isinumite ng Iceland laban sa administrasyong Duterte.

Umaabot sa 47-member ng UNHRC ang bumoto sa nasabing reolusyon ng Iceland kung noong July 11.Sa nasabing bilang ay 18 ang bumoto ng affirmative, labing-apat ang negative at15 abstentions.

Kasama sa 18 mga bansa na bumoto ng pabor na imbestigahan ang EJK ay ang Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Fiji, Iceland, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, at Uruguay.

Sakop ng nasabing memorandum na nilagdaan ni Executive Sec. Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea ang mga department secretaries, heads of agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations at mga government financial institutions.
