Pagkamatay ng PMA cadet dahil sa hazing pinaiimbestigahan ng mga senador
Nais ng ilang senador na agad imbestigahan ang pagkamatay ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadet na si Darwin Dormitorio.
Nais ng mga senador na agad magsagawa ang gobyerno ng pagsusuri sa nangyaring hazing sa PMA na dahilan ng pagkamatay ni Dormitorio.
Ayon kay Senator Koko Pimentel, hindi pwedeng isantabi ang karahasan sa PMA.
Dismayado ang senador na namatay ang PMA cadet sa hazing kahit mayroon ng Anti-Hazing Act of 2018 na magpapataw ng mas mabigat na parusa sa mga gumawa ng hazing.
“This is unacceptable and must be investigated immediately! We cannot turn a blind eye to this kind of violence in the country’s premier military training institution,” nakasaad sa pahayag ng senador.
Kinondena naman ni Senator Sherwin Gatchalian ang pangyayari at hinimok nito ang PMA at Philippine National Police (PNP) na agad parusahan ang mga nagsagawa ng hazing.
Nais ng senador na sumunod ang PMA sa batas na nagbabawal sa hazing.
“I call on the PNP and the PMA leadership to act swiftly so that those behind the death of Cadet Dormitorio will face the full force of the law and answer for their crimes,” ani Gatchalian.
