P78M pondo inilaan para solusyonan ang problema sa African Swine Fever

Naglaan ang Department of Agriculture (DA) sa pamamagitan ng Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) ng P78 milyong emergency fund para pigilan na ang pagkalat pa ng African Swine Fever (ASF).

Ang pondo ay gagamitin para sa biosecurity and quarantine measures; disease monitoring and surveillance; upgrade sa laboratories at iba pang control measures.

Inaprubahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pondo sa Cabinet meeting noong nakaraang linggo.

Sinabi ni Agriculture Secretary William Dar na magpupulong din ang National ASF Task Force (NATF) para sa inter-agency coordination sa tulong ng mga local government units (LGUs) at ng pribadong sektor.

Sa pulong pag-uusapan ang mga gagawing hakbang ng gobyerno para pigilan ang pagkalat ng ASF sa iba pang bahagi ng bansa.

Ang NATF ay pangungunahan ng pangulo bilang chairman at ang DA ay tatayong vice-chair at lead agency.
