Sept. 20 idineklarang special non-working day sa Dingras, Ilocos Norte

Idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na as a special non-working day sa Dingras, Ilocos Norte ang September 20.

Ito ay bilang paggunita sa birth anniversary ni Girl Scout of the Philippines founder Josefa Llanes Escoda.

Ayon kay Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, ang deklarasyon ay ginawa sa bisa ng Proclamation No. 814 na nilagdaan ng pangulo.

Ipinanganak si Escoda sa Dingras at itinatag nito ang Boy’s Town sa Maynila para sa mga mahihirap na kabataan noong 1937 at itinatag naman ang Girl Scouts of the Philippines noong 1940.

Noong August 1944 ay inaresto si Escoda dahil sa hinalang siya ay guerilla sympathizer.
